Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has made it clear that Marcus Rashford will remain out of the team until he meets the club’s standards. Rashford has been dropped for the last three games against Manchester City, Tottenham, and Bournemouth.

Amorim explained that the decision to leave Rashford out is based on his performances in training, not his recent interview where he expressed a desire to leave the club. The coach emphasized that Rashford needs to improve before returning to the squad.

“When I feel the time is right, I will bring him back. Until then, I am focused on what’s best for the team,” said Amorim. “I speak to Marcus every day about his performance, not about the interview. He wants to play, and he’s trying, but this is my decision. I have to do things my way, and I won’t change that.”

United are going through a tough phase, with back-to-back losses to Tottenham and Bournemouth. They now face Wolves on Boxing Day. Amorim highlighted that players like Rashford, who have been with the club for a long time, have a big responsibility during difficult times.

“Marcus needs to be the best version of himself. Players with big talent have big responsibilities. This is one of the lowest points for the club, and everyone needs to step up and show strength,” said Amorim.

The coach has faced many questions about Rashford since the forward was dropped for the Manchester derby. However, Amorim insists that Rashford’s absence is not causing issues within the team.

“It’s not a distraction for me or the players. Everyone at the training ground understands the situation. The media may see it differently, but my focus is clear. Everyone knows what I expect from Marcus and the rest of the squad,” he said.

As United prepare for their next match, the focus remains on improving performances. Amorim’s message to Rashford and the team is simple: work harder, take responsibility, and rise to the occasion.12
